Default Leaking Differential box?

2016 Yamaha G29.

Looks as if the rear diff is leaking through the axle? Watched it for a while and it has never dripped in garage but still seems as though it needs to be addressed. Any idea what it is or if its a simple repair?

I would super clean & degrease, then fill those 2 holes with silicone. They are plug welds that keep the axle tubes in place.

i wonder what the little weld chunks in there were for. So shouldn't be a problem? its never even dripped a drop, just slight film buildup.

The holes go all the way through to the steel tubes, then get welded to hold the tubes in place.

gotcha, i wouldnt mind cleaning everything, filling the holes with silicone and then drain/flush/refill the diff but for the life of me i cant find a drain/fill plug. Im preferring to not have to remove the diff cover as the angle its at i see no way to fill it with cover off anyways.

No drain plug. Have to remove the cover to fully drain. Then put 315cc in the rubber plug hole after cover is reinstalled.

ahhhhhhhh i was afraid of that. im sure its fairly straight forward, remove cover, drain, clean case mount and cover mount then slap some sort of sealant around the lip and bolt cover back on?
is it pretty fool proof to seal the cover back on? id like to do it one time and make sure its sealed properly for next several years.

Just use a wire wheel on the flange of the cover to remove All silicone, and remove what you can from the axle (being sure to not allow any flying inside. Gears & bearings dont care for silicone.
