Default What to do with the body off?

I’ll be swapping to a Doubletake Spartan body and was just wondering if there is anything I should do while I have the body off. Stuff that might be easier at that time. I’m already planning a full tune up with new belts.

A good cleaning and new bushings to start with.

Remove ans clean the gas tank if it needs it. Can’t do that with the body on.

Install wiring/light harnesses

Get a bottle of aluminum brightener (pontoon cleaner) and clean the rear end and frame nice and shiny and new looking.

Leaf spring and front end suspension bushings

If you have an older style engine cradle, good time to install or replace the snubber. On newer style cradles the tang for the snubber unbolts so it’s easy to replace but you have to unbolt the rear ended from the leaf springs and slide the cradle back a bit to install the snubber, obviously much easier with no body

I'm doing the exact same thing - except I've literally torn my cart down to the frame for a complete restoration.

I've got a thread started in the "members carts" forum, but haven't really updated it recently. I've been sandblasting all the old steel parts that will be powdercoated and reused...so nothing really exciting to see yet.

Not on the older carts. The tang the snubber slides onto is part of the engine cradle.

While you're doing the "good cleaning" look closely at for cracks and broken welds in the aluminum.
