What size speakers do you have in your cart? I notice they are mounted in glove boxes and how did you cut the holes for them? Thanks Paul |

They are 6" coaxils. I had the front cowl off when I cut them in, I just used a jig saw with a wood blade. I also have an ST cowl which gives you a little more clearance to install them there.

Ok, one more question, what's the best (simplest) way to gain access behind the dash for running wires? Remove the front cowl? through the bottom? can you remove the top screws that attach the dash to the cowl and get there? Better to hear from someone who has done it before I start taking stuff appart!
Thanks! |

Re: Installing stereo in ball holder? Clearance? 2008 PDS
Ok, well this project is done. I took the advice here and used a hacksaw blade and trimmed away the tabs by hand, took a while to get it to fit just right, after cutting enough to clear the trim ring, the hole was not tight enough, I put in the sleeve and used a couple of small screws to attach the sides to keep anything from moving, worked like a charm.
Didn't remove the front cowl, just ran all my wires ahead of time, reached in with some long pliers and pulled them out, wired everything up and stuck it back in the hole. |

Scooter B
Where did you mount your speakers? I am looking at a pair of 5.25 already enclosed and I haven't decided weather to mount them up above or on the cowl above the dash. |

Looks good Scooter, I hope when I do mine it looks as good. Does anybody know if you need to trim more or less when using one of those marine radio covers?

Re: Installing stereo in ball holder? Clearance? 2008 PDS
In the body, had to get outside the batteries to mount 6 1/2's. The 5.25 speakers will fit anywhere under the seat, because most of them are shallow, but you will be limited with enclosed or box style speakers. You will not get nearly as much sound out of 5.25's that you will get from a 6 1/2, I've upgraded several boats from the 5's up to the 6's and the sound is night and day. They will sound ok, but if you are looking for LOUD, you will need need more speaker. (I picked these up on line for $42.00)
RotoZip cut through the body like butter, nice clean holes. The closed body makes for good air space and the lows are pretty decent for not having a subwoofer. Let's see the photos when you decide on where to put them. |

Thanks Milltown, I know more about boats than I do about golf carts, so here's what I know on the marine covers. Most of them actually mount to the dash of the boat AROUND the hole, not in it. (see photo) So basically what I'm saying is that I could just screw one right to the dash to cover my existing install. |

So install the radio first and then put the cover over it?
