2 cycle gas ezgo golf cart choke problem
I acquired an older golf cart that came with a camp site I bought last fall. I have to constantly throttle the choke to keep it running. anyone know what I need to do to fix this problem? the cart sat over winter and I doubt if it has had any maintenance done on it for years so I assume it may have some build up in the oil and or gas lines. it originally wasn't getting gas to the engine so I pressurized the tank and got that taken care of. I also cleaned the fuel filter.

it sound like your carb is dirty. I got this off of another post and clean all the jets that are circled on the diagram. Also you might want to take the fuel pump apart and clean it too. Just mark the pump with a sharpie or pen so you make sure its clocked the same way when you put it back together. Hope this helps.

Same post X2 - (That's my drawing, hahahahaha) ... Make sure to clean each and every orifice in the jets (some pressurized carb cleaner and a fine piece of brass *not steel* wire works great) as well as the needle valve and seat and with any luck you'll be fine.

Good carb-cleaning should do the trick!!!! Mine acted the same when I got it. It had been sitting for a year.

I wonder if someone could do a writeup or video of the Carb Cleaning, that would be really helpful! Just wondering what you have to tear down to get to the parts, and how to clean them. I think you would have to take off the air filter component, what else?

Re: 2 cycle gas ezgo golf cart choke problem
ok another esay fix that wasn't on there was in the middle circle there is a spring loaded valve and it opens and closes by a little flap on the float. when the float is at its highest piont that little "botton" shoud be pushed all the way in. i cleaned my carb 4-5 times and started looking at the float for a leak and noticed it was too far from the botton to push it. to adjust simply hold the float down somewhat and push the flap up. problem solved!
