94 four stroke ezgo rear axle no go

Have you checked for a stripped hub?You can put it in neutral by stopping the shift lever half way between F & R or remove the drive belt.

How do check for a striped hub? When its in neutral or forward or reverse the rear pulley turns without resistance. In other words if I push the cart it doesn't turn the rear pulley. It does not make any noise and the rear pulley is turning the shaft. When I shift the lever I can see the shifter move on the transaxle but it doesn't move much either way?

Have someone press the accelerater pedal (with the switch on & shift lever in F or R position) while you watch the axle nut in the center of each of the rear wheels,if one of the axle nuts spin that hub is stripped.

So i figured it out the cables are rusted up and not shifting. If i push it by hand in either direction it will drive normal. I guess i will have to get both new. This cart was supposed to have a bad motor but it seems to run great. Not a bad buy at 400 bucks!! Now just need to get the governor adjusted for more speed and possibly a cluch mod.
