Re: 97 EZGO gas intermittent starting after stop
Thanks nobuckbuild, but a little far from Pennsylvania...
It would be great if any of you are in/near my area, in South Orange County, CA, where Hwy 405 merges with Hwy 5... but that is a shot in the dark... Thanks anyway & Happy HolyDays, JosephBus1 |

Re: 97 EZGO gas intermittent starting after stop
Thank You nobuckbuild,
Sorry this took so long, but better late than never!... If we are to chat over cell phones, best if you email me ( at josephBus@gmail.com ) your Tel#, giving a convenient date / time for you to call... Is local time EST?...Mine is PST... I'll then email you back with my cell#... Hope you are still at same contact name...Joseph Last edited by josephBus1; 01-31-2014 at 04:23 PM.. Reason: correction |

Re: 97 EZGO gas intermittent starting after stop
Again, sorry this took soooo long, but took 2 mechanic types...1st one said my EZGO lost compression, needed a rebuild. He was mistaken...
2nd one found the problem & fixed on the spot. The air intake manifold was loose so as to leak causing loss of air suction into the carburetor. Tightening manifold down enabled startup. My EZGO is now operating. One remaining situation is that starting now takes about a minute. I don't have a gas cap & am asking if air leaking into gas tank could prevent gas pump from proper operation? Thank You to all who have helped me learn this stuff...Joseph |

Re: 97 EZGO gas intermittent starting after stop
no, your gas cap wouldn't cause this problem. Possibly carb is flooding why sitting still? How long does it have to sit before this problem shows? Does choking it help or hurt the problem?

Re: 97 EZGO gas intermittent starting after stop
Thanks, McDave
On startup & each time I stop. After about 20 secs of restarting, I try choke; about a min later, it starts. Joseph |
