Default 2005 Club car precedent gas gauge

I've just bought a 2005 precedent petrol and want to put a gas gauge in, do i need to get a new tank or can i add the sender to the existing one? To the best of my knowledge the tank is the original one, and it seems to have a mounting place for the sender but no centre hole. Also, what length of sender do i use for this tank??

I have little knowledge of the mechanics of this buggy and so any help is greatly appreciated!

Take a look at this thread. I have shown how I installed several gauges on my Precedent, including the gas gauge.

Just be careful, since gasoline fumes are explosive. I removed the tank from my Precedent and emptied it. I then drilled the required hole with a battery powered drill outside in the yard. I was lucky and had no problem!

Thanks Ed, can you run the gauge separate to the wiring harness or do you have to put it through it?
