Default GXT Gas whines when you depress pedal

My GXT 800 2 stroke whines when you push down on the pedal. It sounds like a little turbine high pitched whine. It whines for maybe a minute, then the starter engages and it takes off just fine. Sometimes if I put it in reverse it will turn over and if I switch it to forward while the starter is still turning, it will start right up. I am using this cart to patrol controlled burning jobs...and sometimes I really don't want to sit in the middle of the fire for a minute before moving on! Any advice will be appreciated.

I believe that you are hearing the electrical whine of the solenoid trying to overcome a high resistance. Check your electrical connections for corrosion. Remove the connectors from the battery, and also remove them from the battery cables themselves.

That's where I found corrosion causing the same whine on mine.

Sounds like a starter belt loose or worn out.
