Default G9 - jakes speed spring - slower

Well I got my stiffer clutch spring on after I picked up some winch straps to compress it back on, and went for a test drive and if anything it's slower and no noticeable torque or really nothing at all.

I haven't got around to lifting it yet, I see some posts saying stock g9 won't make much of a difference? Is this true or did I mess the install up, which seemed pretty straightforward.

Where did you get the spring? Needs to be from a reputable dealer or umax spring from Yamaha. If it came from buggies unlimited, thats a common problem.

Call plowmans carts and ask to speak to don. He will get you the parts that will make you smile ear to ear.

Got it from carts parts plus. I looked at it again and watched the YouTube video by jakes again and I really think it's installed correctly.

Stock cart really does not need a spring if you are not towing. It may help it spin the tires on takeoff or hills. The springs really help with larger tires or HS gears, that is when they make a big difference. It should not lower top speed but you have to measure it somehow like a hand held gps. If it does you can try loosening the tension cable under he gen pulley if it is tight. The spring will raise rpm at light throttle and lower speeds mostly, not much if any change at wot once you are moving.

Well I ordered my 6" jakes lift kit and some tires/wheels combo & rear seat kit. I am thinking once I recoop the money for this I might just get the clone engine from vegascarts.

Yep, that is just one of the problems with the super-heavy white spring.
