Default G16 smells rich

Cart seems to be running ok but i don't have another to compare it to
when i come to a complete stop i can smell gas pretty strong is that because the cart is shutting down and the left over fuel isn't burning completely?
I am going to pull the plug and compare to a nice chart that i found on here
is this normal
If not any ideas
Thanks

How long since the plug was changed? Highly recommend only using NGK-BPR2ES stok plug. There is a pilot adjustment screw, but it has a limiter cap on it. You can gently pry off the cap for more adjaustment. Stock is "lightly seated" then 1 1/2 turns out. Good luck

what does the piolt screw do the one I got from don said turn 1.75 out but my cart would not even start I had to do 2.25 turns out & now it fires up right away. is it a air mixture screw? & did I add more air turning it out more? so is it running lean now?

Clogged air-filter,leaky air box,bad plug,or dirty carb can all cause mixture issues.Start with the basics.Hope this helps.
