Re: The '92 G9 Dead again
A bad VR can cause it to not run I've read, but either the gen turns it over or not. If you can fab it should not be that hard to rework the wiring, there is not that much to wire/repair. Most of them you can put new ends on the parts near the start solenoid/relay and gen and that fixes a lot of issues. Check all grounds and connectors, fuse holders, and the battery cables can also cause problems. I plan to just buy new ones from a farm supply as mine are trashed. Just need to measure them first.

Re: The '92 G9 Dead again
The last time I bought an igniter & got a new VR as well, $200+ for both if I recall. Hopefully they we both good new. Had bought a working used igniter prior which had it running for a while as well.
When I get back in town I'll be tearing into the buggy seeing as most the Texas heat is behind us. Thanks K |

Re: The '92 G9 Dead again
I got back today from South Africa & the 1st news & got was that my father passed away while I was gone.
Needless to say, the buggy project has dropped a priority or two. I'll be working on arrangements & detail regarding my dad for the immediate future but the buggy will live on forever in his name... Karl |

Re: The '92 G9 Dead again
Karl, sorry for your loss. I lost my dad in June, so I feel your pain.
I too have a cart that was his and it lives in his memory as well. |

Re: The '92 G9 Dead again
Thanks smokindawg, thoughts out for your loss as well. Knowing that that are other buggies living on vicariously is a comforting thought ;)

Re: The '92 G9 Dead again
Also sorry for your loss.
Never know when things will happen. I had all 3 of my vehicles break down in about a week lately, two not drivable. Had to shake my head what are the odds, but cars can be fixed of course. |

Re: The '92 G9 Dead again
Yeah, fixing material things seems a cinch by comparison ;)
Working through the details & emotions here, gonna take time. I went by the lake house today & had a talk with Dad's ghost & the buggy. I swore to get it back under power soon... |
