Idiots guide for wiring Reducer
I attempted to install my reducer yesterday but in the process I arced across two poles on the switch and in the process blew my reed switch.
So can someone help me determine where to hook up yellow wire on 3 position switch for the reducer. I will disconnect all power to the controller this time. Thanks for the help. |

BTW, I have the schematic but can't figure out the switch part.
Pretty sure I have the rest of it. |

Re: Idiots guide for wiring Reducer
Can you post the wiring diagram for the reducer?
If no, what is the make and model of reducer? |

Re: Idiots guide for wiring Reducer
You want to connect the yellow wire (+48V input) to the same push-on connector as either the Blue or Green is connected to.
You want the one that has 48V on it when key is on, but zero when key is off. The other two push-on connectors are for turning the 12V lights on/off. --------- If you are running much of anything on 12V, the reducer will be drawing a lot of amps through your keyswitch (probably about 10A in @48V for 30A out @12V, since it isn't 100% efficient) , so you might want to consider using a relay to switch the 48V to the reducer and use the switched voltage from the keyswitch to activate the relay. |

Re: Idiots guide for wiring Reducer
Thanks JohnnieB it's the green wire. Will try to tackle this next week some time.
Also why doesn't my meter work anymore? Is this because I am now 48V? |
