Re: Club Car PowerDrive 1 Drive System
It was the Potbox. They should have all been fixed under warranty. I've seen it a few times. Although very rare. I wouldn't worry too much about it if it hasn't done it yet. They didn't run at full speed. They'd sit there and shudder like they were trying to go. If the brakes were locked they couldn't move.

Re: Club Car PowerDrive 1 Drive System
Thanks, David. I'll take my lawyer off speed dial now....and I'll be a little more attentive about using the park brake from here on in. Better safe, I guess. But now you got me thinking again about using my battery money in spring to buy a Precedent instead (darnit).

Re: Club Car PowerDrive 1 Drive System
So, how much is the cost to convert from regen1 to regen2?

Re: Club Car PowerDrive 1 Drive System
Both technologies are dated, harder to come by - and expensive if they collapse. If your getting an absolute huge-killer deal on the cart, maybe the right question is - if I change the wiring harness and controller to IQ (and add a run/tow switch), will it fit and can I keep the Regen 1 Sepex motor? And of course, what is the cost (come to think of it, I might like to know that answer too)!!
But if the potentiometer needs changing, and the OBC - then the math just doesn't work in any case. But - to answer you question - here's a link for someone who did it... http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...onversion.html |

Re: Club Car PowerDrive 1 Drive System
Hmmm....lets see....$1000 for batteries, $300 for a charger - so that's $1,650 apiece, right? I think you can cruise Craigs List and do as well, maybe. Even if you have to rent/borrow a trailer in the non-immediate area.

Re: Club Car PowerDrive 1 Drive System
I wouldn't need to purchase chargers, I have 48v chargers from my other carts. I have my own trailer, and I have an Interstate place near me that has used batteries. So even if i had to do 4 12v in one cart and 6 6v in another, that's still at a good price because they are used.
