Default accel pedal adjust

I just bought a 2002 ds/ sepex cart. has four in. lift stock motor. dcx600 controller that has a sticker on it that says for stock motors only.has brand new batteries just put in. I am learning on the club cars had a ezgo before. the problem is it seems very slow when in reverse and not as fast as neighbors cart which is the same year club car and is stock. when compared to his cartmy accel pedal is about 2 inches from floor board of cart before it will move and his starts to move a lot closer to the top of pedal stroke. my question is there a adjustment on the accel pedal I can make. thanks in advance for any help

Spring, Return in the accelerator assembly may be worn out. I will refer to someone more experienced.

I have the same issue with a 2002 DS with a DCX400 controller. I would guess that the accelerator pedal not engaging early enough is true going both forward and reverse. If that's the case, there is probably a groove worn in the underside of the accelerator pedal. A quick fix is using 1/4" fuel hose to put on the stud under the accelerator pedal to take up the slack cause by the groove. I did it on mine from the top side of the cart. I used about a half inch of 1/4" fuel hose and it worked like a champ. But my cart still backs up slower than normal. I am guessing that my controller is programmed for half speed reverse. I'll be able to find out as soon as I can find a driver for the Radio Shack cable used with the controller.
