94 ezgo + older rear axle
I was just wondering if an older axle from a 3 wheeler cart would fit on a 94 EZ GO Medalist frame?
The year of the older axle is unknown. Picture of the axle is attached. |

Cool, thank you for the info. I just bought that rear axle with motor and some other parts for $100.

Re: 94 ezgo + older rear axle
No kidding!! That looks like an axle from a piece of lawn equipment.. It doesn't have any brakes on it, and the input looks like some sort of a pulley drive.. Nearly all electric golf cart axles use direct coupled motors, and have drum brakes at each wheel.. Some of the very early EZGO sparky axles used a band brake on the motor, but those aren't very common anymore..

Re: 94 ezgo + older rear axle
It does if you expect it to run... Some of the older cart axles ain't worth the gunpowder to blow them up!! Motors are either non existant, or cost prohibitive to repair/replace...

if u look closely it looks like the spring perches might be part of the rear end housing.. which like ccjohn mentioned might make it soemthing from a riding lawnmower |

Re: 94 ezgo + older rear axle
Well...Now I have no clue what to do. I just had a friend over in NY pick this up for me, so I'll have him take more pictures of it and I'll post them here.
The guy I bought it from did say that it came with a motor that bolt on to the diff. But I haven't physically seen the axle yet (not that it would matter, I know nothing about carts or lawn equipment) |
