New Cart - Yamaha G29/Drive?
Ok guys - I sold my '83 G1 for a decent deal.
Looking to replace it with a gas G29/Drive. Friends have one and I love the look of them. Any input? Things to watch for? |

Re: New Cart - Yamaha G29/Drive?
get a newer one that switched back to the dana/spicer axle (maybe 2013 switch, i forget). team axles & parts will eventually be obsolete/unattainable. look for black axle tubes, not cast aluminum axle tubes.

2015 and up have all the upgraded parts axles and clutches. Bite the bullet if you have to

The Team Differential is bullet proof. The Clutch division got sold off and currently are still being made. The Dana Rear is good, but the clutches for it suck. The Early dana diiffs can be back dated to the team clutches.

I could never say the Team transaxles are "bullet proof".

Re: New Cart - Yamaha G29/Drive?
on team i have changed many input shafts (failed governor parts & associated noise) & seen several "lifetime brakes" toasted. ever changed brakes on a team axle, its tons of $$$. Supply of input shafts for gas team axle will dry up. also "white tag" electric axles (early production Ydre) were as "bulletproof" as swiss cheese.

I have a 2012.5 (it has the new style clutch) ... runs great / rides great.

Thanks for input. Maybe I'm a traitor, but I stumbled on a super clean EZGo RXV. Couldn't pass it up!
