Yami not charging

My last thread disappeared half way through writing it so I will try again. I bought a cart recently that I believe to be a G8 cart by the pics that I've seen and info that I have read on here. No serial plate anywhere that I have found. I have done all of the tests that I read on the site. R/W wire has power when pedal pressed. Jumped green wire and voltage climbs to over !6 volts. Have voltage at V/R. Continuity in wires. Easy fix, replace V/R. Nope. Nothing. Put my old regulator on my buddies cart and his charges fine. I have 3 wires going into it. R/W , Green, and Brown. There are 4 blades on the regulator with 1 not being used. 3 wires in the plug. Wiring diagrams show 4 wires with a black going to ground. Could this be my problem? No black to ground. It looks like somebody has done some wiring repairs on it before and maybe forgot the ground wire? I'm at a loss as to what to do next. Any ideas from anybody?

Really not sure. It's the one that was on it when I bought it. How would I tell the difference ?

Thanks jj1230 . I looked around and can't seem to find the G8 group. Can you tell me how to find it please?
