I know the 82 is different but I'm not sure what is different but I know it definitely has different parts than all other g1s

You are correct. The engine itself is different than all other years. I think the front spindles are different too. I'm not sure what else.

I have one too. Appears no jug kit available. The reeds, intake, and carb are different from other years. Can switch the jug to either older or newer, but need the jug, head, reeds, intake and carb. The '82 jug can be machined as the piston is the same as other years.

Here is a link to a parts catalogue for the G1.
It shows that it is for the 1982 G1 as well.

It has good expoded views.
