Re: Oil Additives (DO NOT USE)!!
Outboard oil is 2 stroke oil. just check the container it comes in for the rating. I'm sure your oil is perfect for your G1.

Re: Oil Additives (DO NOT USE)!!
http://www.nmma.org/certification/ce...oil/tc-w3.aspx is a good place to learn something about 2 cycle oils. Still outboard oils should have a TD rating from one web site but most recommend TC-W3 for out boards the other recommends TD rated oils so there is a lot of info on 2 cycle oils. Opinions about 2 cycle oils is extremely varied. They are like a-holes, every body has one but with 2 cycle oils sometimes more. Any way if you stick with what you have or ? any TC-W3 rated 2 cycle oil is good.

Re: Oil Additives (DO NOT USE)!!
From everything I have read, Outboard Oil is for water cooled outboard motors and 2 Cycle Air Cooled Oil is for air cooled motors/engines. I believe outboards run cooler than air cooled engines and the outboard oil is formulated for that use. I'm sure both oils will work back and forth for each type engine, but for best results use what the factory recommends. This subject has been beaten to death on the internet, just go look!! This probably doesn't help, but I offer it anyway. - RAY

Still works excellent in any 2 cycle that burns oil in gasoline.

Re: Oil Additives (DO NOT USE)!!
TC-W3 has never damaged an engine unless not enough was used. I have used this oil now for several years with excellent results... I don't know where these people get these weird ideas about oil. My oil usage has exceeded 7 gallons and my cart has been rode hard and put away wet for years and still no oil related problems. Please read the requirement for testing oil for TC-W3 then tell me again that the oil will damage your 2 cycle engine.

Re: Oil Additives (DO NOT USE)!!
So do you guys think I screwed up by putting 10w40 Mobil One in my carts?
I have had these discussions endlessly on my Muscle car sites, but they all have pressurized oil systems. I think these carts are very different as they do run positive crankcase pressure, and that should help force lubrication in places it wouldn't go naturally. |

Re: Oil Additives (DO NOT USE)!!
It probably works well in 4 cycle carts but I'm not sure how it would work in a 2 cycle burning the oil! I don't think synthetic oil is an additive unless it is used in a 2 cycle engine.

Re: Oil Additives (DO NOT USE)!!
Sorry, I wasn't clear and totally spaced out the 2 cycle carts, my bad. I was talking about 10w40 synthetic in the 4 cycle, where 10w30 is recommended.
