Oil Smoke on Yamaha G16
Cart sat all winter and start up this spring had oil smoke pretty heavy until it runs for some time then it pretty much goes away. I'm new to golf carts but am thinking this is a valve seal. Guess the only other option is piston rings. Is it worth rebuilding the seals and bearings or just do the whole rebuild including piston, seals, rings, etc.?

Re: Oil Smoke on Yamaha G16
First, do a compression check at wide open throttle. If 155 to 175 lbs, I'd say the oil rings are toast (common for Yamaha's). Yes, since the head would be off, decarbon, "lap" the valves and a new valve stem seal on the intake. You'd be throwing away money installing a stem seal on the exhaust valve, just to much heat. Good luck
