What year is my g1?

I have searched extensively trying to locate the numbers on my new g1 they are not where they are supposed to be. Cleaned the area then took paint off with steel wool. I need to make sure its not an 82
Any other ways to tell what year it may be?

I've seen G1 had numbers on the top round frame tube near right rear shock, facing back, real hard to find with body in way. I think it was the top tube, I remember you had to lean into the body with a flashlight to see them down there and they were painted over black. That was a G1 less than 6yr old at the time, early 80s.

Problem is it doesn't start with J
The number is

S215-015809

I can't find any year info for this number. Anyone have any idea?

Just to give you an idea another engine which I determined to be 1982 does start with a J

Its J17-015329 that's 1982 low compression year right?

I would say look harder. The numbers are stamped in the frame so they can't go anywhere. They are hard to see. They are on the shock tube, or on the bottom left or right just below the bumper. Again they are not on a tag that can't come off, they are stamped in the frame.
