Default What is “speed upgrade” from Yamaha dealer?

Looking at a new drive 2 AC electric cart. The invoice doesn’t have prices. Just has what’s included like lights , horn etc.

One line says “speed upgrade”.

Any idea what this is?

Thanks

Maybe some sort of PTV code? I didn’t know anything above 19mph was available from the AC system.

I'm pretty sure that 19mph is max. Here's what this opinion is based on (Yamaha factory training). Yamahas lawyers are scared of huge lawsuits that might result from "irresponsible, negligent actions that resulted in death". So they stick to guidelines prescribed by the ANSI (a sanctioning body who issues guidelines of "what stuff is"). Sticking to these guidelines offers some protection in court since "everyone else was doing it, and ANSI decided it was safe". A "golf cart" cannot reach speeds exceeding 14mph. A "PTV" cannot exceed 19mph. A "LSV" cannot exceed 25mph. Each level having specific equipment requirements. For example, a LSV must have seat belts, while the lower levels don't. PTVs are required to have reflectors, while golf carts are not. I don't know of any Yamaha offerings in the LSV category offered from the assembly line (a product similar to the Ezgo 2Five LSV).
