Default 1990 kf82 cam align

Hey guys...posted once before...Working on the Fed Ex #11. You guys are great and very helpful. Rebuilding the 1990 kf82...used fingernail polish to mark the cam/crank/balancer. Looks like it can still be 180 off even with the marks. Did a search first and "oddpowers" had a similiar question on 12-19-09 With no answer. Does anybody have an answer on how to line up properly?

Cool Re: 1990 kf82 cam align

Scotty..You are the bomb! Short story...Did this project for my Dad...Club Car dealer said make flower box out of it. bought rebuilt parts for motor...laying in bed remembered, I did not set the keepers for the connecting rod after the lower case all assembled...pulled apart and noticed the cam could be in 180 off??????????????? You saved me a lot of work..went out and looked for the marks on the cam and crank and tah dah....they were there. My Dad lives in Arizona and would of headed there in a week or so with the motor 180 out...Thank You for saving the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One more question...duh...Does anyone know the ring gap on a .050 over piston? I am taking the cylinder in to be machined...the machinist may know??? I would like to provide info if I could. Thank You all for the best site ever...will keep you alll up to date as soon as this thing fires again.

Thanks n2goodeals2, However I still have not solved my problem. There are no marks on my crank gear for the cam. Here's a pic maybe someone can help me.

n2g, all my manual has on piston ring gap is a wear limitation. It says the piston ring gap should not be greater than .039, also the final hone on the cylinder should leave a piston clearance of .0006 to .0018.

Good Luck
