Well got my new clutch. Now the question is do i want to throw it in the lathe and give her a spin. dont really feel like buying ANOTHER one. lol. She sure is perdy! Took a measurement the belt sticks up about 0.075" with brand new clutch and less than week old drive belt...

I got lucky on my old ez go driven! I removed the nylon shim between the 2 halves, it was .080 thick and it brought the belt over the top just about 1/8" it made a ton of diffidence! and was FREE!!

As a fun side note, I just 'machined' my drive clutch today while I had it apart for other work. I could see where the two faces came into contact with each other due to wear marks.

I just took the a belt sander to the half that came off. I took maybe 1-2mm off the face around the center. Then reassembled it.

Before, the belt sat about 3/16 below lip, now it is even with top lip. Not a massive change but better. If I could have accessed the other half without damaging the shaft sticking out of it I would have taken some off there too.

(Actual measurements came out to .126, & .1275" on cheapy calipers) so now i wonder how much do you machine off and still have enough beef/support there? .015" - .020" ?
You only machine the part near shaft that touches together to allow faces to be closer together thus holding belt tighter and higher longer(more torque). You don't machine the 28 degree faces where belt actually ride.
