Default 84 ezgo losing power

Hi,

Quick question. My 84 gas ezgo runs great for about 10 minutes then it starts losing power. I just redid t
he whole exterior and don't want to spend more money on other parts if I don't need to. Thanks

That is the classic symptom of a blocked muffler. I suggest that you undo the bolts between the pipe and the muffler so that you have a 1/2 gap. Now go for a ride to see if it makes a difference.

If it does then the solution is to light a nice big camp fire and place the muffler on top. After 30 minutes flames will shoot out of each end and 30 minutes later you will be good to go. Let the muffler cool and then shake out any ash.

Good luck

Dave

Thanks Dave I will try that. Here are a few more questions. How much weight can I pull with this machine. I would like to use it in a few parades this year being I got it all prettied up and how many gallons does the gas tank hold. Probably dumb questions but I like to add the correct amount of oil to the tank before I put gas in to get a good mix.

Well, you can figure that in it's prime, the cart was made to carry 800 pounds worth of golfers and gear over hill and dale on the courses. I'd imagine it could pull at least that on a relatively flat area. I believe quite a few people are using them for towing smaller dragsters which weigh near a ton. These might have had mods to the clutches but figure 800 pounds including occupants just to be safe. I've had four people on mine, definitely overloaded, and taking moderate hills with no problem.

As far as fuel consumption and capacity, I'm not exactly sure. I mix 5 gallons of 100:1(I like some smoke)and put it in. It fills the tank for the most part and seems to run all weekend off and on. I'd think I can get at least 3 hours of run time from it on one 5 gallon jug of pre mix.

Thanks for the information. Hope I can get running decent before parade season. I'm gonna try putting my Dj system either on it or towing it and it has some weight to it plus passengers.

The correct fuel mix is 128:1. 1oz oil to 1 gallon of gas. You should always mix it in a gas can first to make sure its mixed properly.
