Default '89 ezgo 2 stroke cutting out

I've been working on my '89 ezgo 2 stroke I recently purchased. I have it running good all except if I run it for extend periods without letting it shut off it will try to cut out. If you let off the throttle for a bit then hit it again it will fire right back up. Just at the golf course it never occurs but on the drive there and home it will do it. New parts include gas lines, fuel pump, carburetor, carburetor gaskets, spark plug, head gasket, cylinder gasket, piston, and rings. Also BBQ'd the muffler. Any ideas?

Could this possibly be gas lid vent causing this?

Possible float level set to low. With the carb removed and the float turned up it should be leval with the carb housing. You may want to try raising it a bit more so you have a little more fuel in the bowel but make sure it's just a bit or you'll run into flooding issues. Welcome to BGW

Adjusted float and it seemed to take care of the problem. I appreciate the advice.
