power problem
Not sure what's wrong, but as of now I have to jump start my battery in order to get the motor running. Its ok until I stop then I have to jump start it again. What can be the cause of this?

Re: power problem
I would have the battery checked Also look at all the connections especially the grounds and clean them well. BATTERY TO FRAME-FRAME TO ENGINE-BATTERY CABLE ENDS. Look for bad cables also they may be drawing to many amps if there loose or corroded and not tight. Check back!

Re: power problem
Jack up the cart, and run it at mid-RPMs to see if the voltage at your battery is >13 volts or so. Could be a voltage regulator or generator issue.
Not sure what post it was, but I did copy and paste this to my notes because I was having kind of the same issue. Mine turned out, that I needed to drive it for about 30 minutes to give my battery a good charge. My battery charger wasn't enough... Fully Charge your battery and note the battery voltage 1) Check for loose, broken wiring. 2) Raise rear of cart and attach a volt meter between the regulator's red and black wires. 3) Start engine and run at mid speed, making note of the meter reading. 4) Reading should be between 14 to 16 volts. 5) If reading is above specs, check for a grounded green wire from the starter/gen. 6) If no rise in voltage, disconnect green wire from starter/generator ** and temporarily ground to frame. 7) If voltage rises within specs, replace voltage regulator. If the voltage does not rise then the generator is defective and the first step would be to check the brushes. ** It is important to place a thin wrench under the wire to prevent the stud turning and ripping the wire off the stud inside the generator --Chris |
