Re: motor magnet
The motor braking on an Excel car works totally different than it does on an IQ car. The
"Pedal up mode" feature of the controller can be turned to zero and it will keep the car from braking when you release the pedal. Here's the catch though, Excel cars also have an additional feature known as "Excel braking" that must also be turned off. "Excel braking" will make the car brake "as" you release the pedal. Different than the IQ car's "Pedal-up" mode (A feature also present in Excel) because the IQ doesn't begin braking until the pedal is completely released. This in exception to max speed limitation controller by motor braking as well. What I was trying to tell you before was that the Excel car is not compatible with the magnet. It will reject it and actually will give you slower speeds than you have now. The controller does not read the speed pulses the same as the IQ car and will render the high speed magnet useless to you. You need to find a dealer and have the pedal up mode turned to 0 and the Excel braking turned off. Note to others reading this: Excel braking on/off control is only available on 2010-present Excel controllers with newer software. Early Excel controllers don't allow you to turn it off at all. |

Re: motor magnet
So the "Excel braking" feature that can now be disabled is also what prevents the cart from going faster downhill than a partially pressed accelerator pedal would normally allow?

Re: motor magnet
Yes.... with Excel braking turned on, if you apply 50% throttle going down hill, you get 50% speed. It'll restrict your speed unless you are applying full throttle.

Re: motor magnet
You need to have the IQDM handheld programmer to change settings in the controller. Your local Auth. CC dealer should be able to change it for you. Where are you located?
