That is the infamous "CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE POTENTIOMETER" which only was used on '95 & '96 Club Cars. It is "adjustable" somewhat - but they were notoriously troublesome and easily contaminated with water/dirt. You can open it up and attempt to clean it out inside with electrical contact cleaner as an interim step - but really; it is best to just replace it with AM293201-DS Pre-MCOR TO MCOR4 Conversion Kit - see HERE

But call the vendor to make sure yours is the version of '95 that can be converted. That kit will convert it to a "modern" throttle device.

Make sure it is AM293201 - but I still recommend calling the vendor to confirm compatibility. You are within 6 mos. of not being able to use that kit (although I think its the right one for you)!

thx joe I did call, the gent says I need a few more parts so you are right I gave him the serial number and hes getting me the 3 mcor to 4 mcor conversion kit as I have the continuous variable potentiometer just my luck, haa haaa very good guy on phone thx a heck of a lot
