I have on my iPad a PDFs file that shows all the test for troubleshooting 98-99 regen 2 carts. I got the file off this site somewhere. I don't know how to upload a file like this on an iPad.

So we don't cross post on other threads I will just copy the same reply here, try these tests:
Use this diagram for reference.
With the OBC by-pass in place (OBC 6-pin connector Red/White jumped with the Blue wire).

Turn Tow/Run switch to Run.

Turn the Key switch ON

Put FNR on Forward.

Verify that You have:
+48v on Controller pin #1 Red wire.
+48v on Controller pin #2 Orange/White wire.
+48v on Controller pin #4 White wire.
When You press the Pedal:
+48v on Controller pin #3 Green/White wire
If You have all of the above, that satisfies all controller input requirements.

Place your meter positive probe on pack positive.

Place your meter negative probe on Controller pin #11 Blue/White wire.
When You press the Pedal You should get +48v
if not, the controller is bad.

Ok, Home from work!

Thanks for the replies.

Looks like the easiest way to bypass the obc is to connect the right solenoid, right terminal (v+) to the blue wire (rear) terminal on the back of that same solenoid?

Basically we are giving 48v+ to the F/R switch, the OBC, the buzzer, etc?

And then I take the controller plug out of the controller and test the pins on the wire harness after hooking up the battery, etc....

That will do it

You can also read over this other similar thread for tests.

Ok I read through that thread. Wouldn't it be nice if they posted the final result? New Controller, rebuilt?

Just an aside, whats inside one of these controllers? Lots of PCB's and IC's?

Headed outside to figure out how the connector clip works.

Looks like these are done with the controller plug back in:

Place your meter positive probe on pack positive.

Place your meter negative probe on Controller pin #11 Blue/White wire.

When You press the Pedal You should get +48v

if not, the controller is bad.

OK, Tow On, key on, FNR on F, Jumper V+ to Blue:

.7 volts with and without a pedal push.

Continuity check of blue/wht wire from alligator clip on solenoid to pin 11 (disconnected from controller), shows about 345 ohms. Reseated Alligator a couple times, same value.

Going to look for my other meter and double check.

confirmed, 347 ohms, second meter. Should be one end of wire to the other, I don't see anything else on the diagram.
Which would imply a wire living on half a thread?
