I would just clean it up nicely and see how it does. You could pull the motor and make sure that no oil has gotten inside it.

Another thought is considering how long you have owned the cart without checking or how long the previous owner went without checking or perhaps overfilling.... I'd drain the oil from the rear end and add back the correct amount; the manual calls for 22 once of SAE 30 motor oil....

I agree with Teecro, if the previous owner had the cart on jack stands when it was filled, it most likely got overfilled.
You have 2 plugs on the differential, take both of them off and let the old oil drain. Plug the bottom one back in. Fill the differential on a level plane through the top plug until the oil is flush with the hole. I used Royal Purple Synthetic SAE 30: |

Where I'm from , something isn't "leaking" unless it hits the ground and leaves a puddle...
