While we're on them 2 questions
1) I'm assuming they kick out a load equal to the draw? What I mean is that of its a 30a its only putting out 30a if the device draws that much? I'm trying to figure out the effect on the pack / runtime. 2) can 2 be put in parallel to achieve a higher amp. Rather than splitting loads this would be easier for fuse wiring etc... Re: Let's talk Voltage Reducers
Most (all) modern DC-DC converters are over 85% effiecent at converting power, some of the newer designs are close to 95% effiecent. This is generally fairly linear throughout the output range, also many models will output up to 150% of their rating for a short time, as output limit is usually a function of heat disipation ability.

Thank you, it's for a audio system. The amps are fused at 40 A each but that's assuming 2ohm resistance, bridged and full volume. The reality is 4ohm, un bridged and 25-35% volume. Just don't want to end up setting anything on fire Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Let's talk Voltage Reducers
FWIW. I have been using a $12(Ebay) - 48 to 12v 10a reducer for lights and radio for quite awhile.
Can someone post a link to the switch that would be used on the positive lead. |

Re: Let's talk Voltage Reducers
Its the same relay used in the charger. I tried finding the pic on my tablet and cant but sergio has posted it a few times. Prettyslick to use the key and works perfect for my aux battery set up. I dont care i have to sesrch for stations or set controls each time.

Re: Let's talk Voltage Reducers
Question... What if you leave the + connected to the battery pack and move the negative for accessories (voltage reducer, etc) to the B- of the controller? Wouldn't this add switching as well as make sure your controller gets first dibs on the power pull off the battery pack?

Re: Let's talk Voltage Reducers
I have a 99 ClubCar and put mine on the frame behind the two center batteries. There were holes there so i just bolted it down. Used a busbar for my ground and ran the wires under the frame.
