13 hp throttle cable fix.
I've always felt the throttle cable was way too stiff on the 13hp singles versus the twins that I got used too. So...I started collecting different springs and brackets so over the winter I would do something with it and hopefully fix it.
Well...I got frustrated since my right knee hurts and the cart would aggravate it. I cut the wire ties that had held the cable captive, loosened the 10mm nuts....took the cable from metal guide and dropped the cable on the ground... Found out the cable is long enough to go completely under the motor and axle, much like the twin cylinder early models and...wala...smooth as slick. After thought...I should of dropped some oil into the cable but this is night and day difference. Super smooth and no cost. Another good day in the garage. |
