Timing on a 2pg
ezgo gas golf cart 87 robins 244cc 2pg owner having problem with it poping and not runing correctly. thinking its a timing issue and never worked on one before, some info from a pro would be nice

Page L-14 of the manual shows the proper timing. The timing ring is centered so the engine runs really good in both forward, and reverse. Moving the ring one way makes it run great in forward. Moving the ring the other way makes it run great in reverse.
I would be surprised if timing is the issue. Does it have the original ignitor box, or did somebody install an HEI ignition module? I would also clean the plug, clean the carb, and make sure the fuel is being mixed at 128:1 ratio. The NGKBP4 HS is also the best spark plug for this engine. |
