Default Lugnuts?

I am getting ready to replace leaf spring and ran into an issue
with the tires.
The nut holding them on is larger than a 18mm or a 11/16 sae.
But when i go up a size then the wall of the socket will not
fit into the rim hole, where the nut is located. Is there a special socket that i need to get? I'm glad i found this out before i got a flat or needed to do brake
work. I went to local ACE and tried every socket they had larger and all
where to wide to fit in the rim either so it isn't just a Craftsman thing.

It should be a 3/4th. Look like someone put the original lug nuts on it when you should be using what it calls for on that wheel. The original ones will probably go too deep.
Find an old 3/8 drive deep socket and if you have to grind it down on outside to where it will get on those nuts. Then buy the correct lug nuts that go with that wheel. They will stick out where you can get a socket on it easy.
My 2 cents

Longer nuts that will secure the wheel and still stick out beyond it?

A spark plug socket (for a 3/4" or 19mm) should have a thin enough wall to work.

Generally speaking, a 3/8ths drive socket set will have thinner walls than a 1/2 inch drive set, and ALL impact sockets have thicker walls. The most likely to fit in your case will be a 3/8th inch drive 12 point standard hand socket, either 19mm or 3/4 inch size. SOMEBODY makes one or they wouldn't be on there now. And yes, the local parts houses do sell longer lug nuts that will tighten the wheel and protrude out far enough to get a wrench on. Your wheels are wearing the wrong nuts.

More like these. They are 1/2 x 20 thread to fit golf cart and are 2 inches long. I think the ones at Summit Racing are bigger. https://www.ebay.com/itm/12165068989...IAAOSwKtVWzgkv

I've ran across this before on S&S wheels, they have nice chrome lug nuts to fit. You'll still need a thin wall socket, all good advice above.....

In your case I can't believe someone would use the old ugly nuts on such nice wheels anyway, I hope they haven't hurt the taper. geez

Here's what mine look like

Thanks everyone for advise. I am going to try to find a socket that fits with the 3/8 drive instead of my 1/2", maybe that will keep the walls thin enough so socket will fit over the nut. If not then i guess i will have to start grinding the sides off the socket i do have, at least i know the size is either 19mm or 3/4".
Thanks again!
