Just a little work on the cart last night. I made a bracket out of my surplus diamond plate for the fuse panel. I added a support bracket to the frame so it is nice and stout. I am going to use the rest of the bracket for mounting misc. items / relays.

The feed will actually be a 10g wire from a solenoid to the fuse panel. I started wiring up the solenoids and controller. I will be using two momentary switches with LED rings. One red for reverse and one green for forward. Since they are momentary, I devised a latching relay system.

LED Switch

The switch is momentary? Hows this work?

Pretty standard electronic solution using a DPDT latching relay to power the solenoids. Not sure if there will be a neutral, depending on how the circuit is designed it will be either in forward or reverse with the key on.
The lighted rings are cool!

Yes, that is how it will work. It will be a latching relay. I used 3 standard Bosch 12 volt 5 prong relays to create the latch. The reverse switch will activate and latch the solenoid. The forward switch will break the latch so the default power on setting is forward. Whatever solenoid is active, the LED ring around the switch will glow. Green for for forward and red for reverse. There is no neutral. I never used it on my PDS cart so I did not wire one in.
