Depends on what you want the cart to be able to do when done. If you want a lot of torque then you will be good to go with this setup, but your top end is going to be limited. I say around 20MPH tops for the beast!
Call and speak with Robby they should be able to hook you up.

Lightbulb Re: THE BEAST upgrade 48v combo?worth it?

I have the D&D motor out of the old Mud Buggie I built years ago. When I bought it they told me it was the same spec as a beast. On 72 volts it only would do 24MPH tops. This is a torque motor meant for pulling not top end.

here is the problem ...I want more torque/speed. I dont want to kill the batteries fast. I use it mainly at camp grounds year round. Most of them pretty flat. "Ocean lakes SC, Fort Wilderness FL and many of them in Maryland that have some pretty good size hills. As of right now my cart shuts off after 20 min run time and was told it was from a bad controller. I was also told that it was only a 2hp motor on my cart and he didnt understand why when he said it should have at least a 4hp motor. My Daughter drive this cart so it dosent need to be a superfast cart but when I need it I want it. It would be nice to use it also at the pits to pull my car Back to the trailer on race day. Right now if an adult stands in front of cart and if I press the go fast pedal , the adult can hold the cart still.
