A Little Help Please
A little while ago I was happily motoring back from a friends house. Going top speed I felt a little hesitation in the cart, felt like I was not under power. Going down a 5% grade I thought I was at top speed. Then the cart slowed more and then back under power a couple of times so I decided to get off the main road and check a dumpster {did I mention I was a chronic dumpster diver, actually am a garbologist}. After I checked the dumpster the cart would not move F or R. The motor was a little warm, I think, so I waited 15 min. to see if I could continue. Could not, so a 1 mile tow, in TOW and I was home. Checked voltage and it was 38, checked connections, all ok. I have a new ALLTRK controller and seliniod plus good battery cables. One thing I noticed lately is a slight noise when I am coasting. Thought I might be needing brushes soon. Dont know. Although I can go 23 MPH and happy with speed this is the first problem I have had. 2002 EZ-GO PDS Cart.

Re: A Little Help Please
Did you check the wiring and battery connections? If those have worked loose you may be getting a problem. If the connections are fine then check the motor.

I checked the battery connections. Do you mean check the wires to the motor? Or check the motor? I will take the cover off of the controller but they see to be tight.

also there is a small wire, mine is red, that follows from the charging port to the controller. I lost all power and had plenty of juice. come to find out this wire (at the connection) burnt while driving. it took some research to find, but once this was corrected we were back to GREEN FLAG racing again.

Also the cart will go in reverse very, very, very slowly . I can hear a slight low buzz coming from the area of the controller. The wires are tight. The cart will not go in forward slowly or otherwise and will only go in reverse a couple of times then nothing. Now I will check the wires more closely to the motor. Whats next. Cart down, chronic low back pain and sink clogged. Oh well coffee break over, back on your knees.

Re: A Little Help Please
Could it be the new controller? No power to the motor. Power to the solenoid and click but no power to motor

Re: A Little Help Please
Do you have the reverse buzzer connected? the PDS carts send error codes through that if there is a controller problem. The controllers usually either work or burn up and dont do anything. The motor is what you need to check. The motor runs both directions so worn brushes might be why it only works in reverse.
