Default 1996 EZGO TXT Rebuild

I just purchased a 1996 EZGO TXT (DCS Model) Body/Frame is in excellent shape. I was told the Motor runs but the controller is bad. Can someone recommend a controller and or motor. I want SPEED, not interested in Tork.
Does anything else need to be replaced if I want speed. I have 4 guage wires and new batteries to be installed.

You are gonna get torque and SPEED from a DCX400 upgrade with the right solenoid and cable combo! You need a battery meter too. Low voltage operation is the DCS Achilles heel. Low voltage operation will smoke a DCS speed control.
You should get about 22mph out of the combination I mentioned. You could add taller tires or gears or a motor rewind for more speed yet.

What type of solenoid/cable combo should be used. Also what causes low voltage.

Typically a HD 200 amp solenoid and some 4g cables.

Depleted batteries produce low voltage...

Depleted batteries produce low voltage..I assume that occurs when you run it and the batteries start loosing juice. Does that controller burn more power from the batteries
