98 ezgo humming will not engage
I have a 1998 electric ezgo. I just pulled it out of storage and have replaced and charged the batteries. I had a problem with a battery terminal melting and have replaced the wires and cleaned the terminals. Now the cart hums when the gas pedal is pressed beyond 15%. I can feel the power of the motor through the pedal. It starts to go but stops once the humming starts it stops. This also happens in reverse.

Re: 98 ezgo humming will not engage
It may be a stripped hub? Jack up the passenger side and remove hub cap to expose the axle nut. Take hold of the wheel with both hands and turn it sharply forward and back. If the axle and nut do not stay with the turning wheel, the hub is stripped?
If that's not the problem, we need to know if this is a Series or DCS cart. |

Re: 98 ezgo humming will not engage
if its not your hub double check all your work on batteries and even a new battery can be bad it might not hurt to test and load test them......possible the one that melted has internal short............................
