G16 input shaft
OK, I started with a leak around the input shaft. I have it disassembled and have found that the bearing is toast. Now comes a few questions.
1. Is there a kit to repair all the damage or does it have to be pieced back together? 2. i am guessing that the input shaft collar spacer needs replaced? 3. Is there anything else I should do while I have it apart, I have read somewhere, something about the governor coming out. Directions or how-to would be great. 4. ANY OTHER NEED TO DO'S?? Thanks, Jeff |

No kit that I'm aware of.

Re: G16 input shaft
Thanks, I ordered the parts today. I am guessing you just knock the old bearing out and press in the new one. Looks pretty straight forward. Looks like the old spacer is fine to use again. Can't wait to get it all buttened back up. I got the cart a few weeks ago and have yet to take it for a spin. I wanted to get all the kinks worked out... getting close!!

Re: G16 input shaft
Hope the tranny case is not messed up from the bad bearing. And I don't blame you!!
Good luck, Mike |

Re: G16 input shaft
I guess a good thing might be to pull the diff cover and clean it all out really good? The rear cover is just an RTV.....right?

Re: G16 input shaft
Yes! I would try to flush it out with diesel fuel or something, clean metal filings and stuff out of it. And yes, just RTV the cover back on.
If it were me, I would be taking all the governer stuff out, but that is only if your bypassing the gov. You can get an exploaded view of the tranny in the sticky above to see what needs to come out. Good luck Mike |

Re: G16 input shaft
is it as easy as taking off the assembly off the top and re-routing the cable to the carb, or is it more benificial to remove the internal parts too???
