I would take the plastic shrouding off and confirm there are is no blockage of air flow around the cooling fins of the cylinder and head. These fins have to be clean aluminum, no rat nests, mud or oil soaked debris. It is imparative that this is checked, as well as the intake system.

If he is running a white sparky that indicates a very lean mixture as we all know. This is because of too much air and not enough fuel, which in turn will create an overly hot engine. If the carb has been torn down and cleaned properly then i would have to suspect too much air, which would indicate something missing or a leak in the intake.

You can also try adjusting the pilot screw in all the way and then back out about 1 and 1/2 times to richen it up and see what happens.

I Was not aware of a white spark plug.

Just reread, and I don't know what a sparky is. Thought it was a gas, white golf cart.

Thats ok Mike, they do indeed fill up with junk around the cooling shroud so every little bit helps to keep them cool.
