relocate speed potentiometer on 96 series?
I am toying with the idea of relocating the potentiometer on my 96 series cart. I am planning to hunt in an area where I may need to cross a creek with varying water levels. I am hesitant to raise the cart very much with a lift and tires because my kids drive it, and it is already fast enough. (3.75 hp motor- clocked it yesterday with my truck at over 15 mph) I don't want a roll over from too much speed and too high center of gravity. I had considered a thumb operated pot on the steering wheel, but if I do this, I want to be able to switch back to the pedal for the kids when at home. I have heard that newer carts have a pot under the seat that links to the pedal. Could I retrofit this type to my cart?

Re: relocate speed potentiometer on 96 series?
I would switch to a Curtis type pot and mount it as high as possible in the battery bay. You will need to do a throttle mod. I would get it up as high as possible.
