rev limiter
i have a yamaha g22 that i would like to make rev higher. any thoughts?

Sprid your on a roll this morning. I was thinking the same thing. Anything over 4500 rpms is just an expensive rebuild waiting to happen. Remember these carts were designed to do 12 mph on a golf course. Mine has a tourque spring, machined sheave, HD belt and speed spring on the governor and it does 25 mph on flat ground at 4500 rpms. And even with that I try not to run it constantly at 4500. Bypassing the governor will get you higher rpms BUT you will be rebuilding the motor not long afterwards.

thanks guys! now...is there anything special to do to the govener?
is there any other mods,air filter, exhaust, that can be done to get a little more power?? mine is a 6 seater and it would be nice to get a little more power with out going nuts on the motor. |
