Default Does primary clutch have a grease fitting?

When I look at the cap of the primary clutch it appears there is a grease fitting in the middle of the cap.

Is it a grease fitting?. The owners manual did not tell me to grease anthing in the primary clutch.

G22A Yamaha cart

If you know then please tell me.

Start by cleaning (really well) all your battery connections all the way to the starter.

Then try lubing the clutch. Just three or four pumps in the drive clutch. There should be a fitting on the edge of the outer sheave part. If its the driven (rear) clutch that won't engage, grease it too: two pumps.

Any member that greases the Yamaha primary clutchs with "3 or 4 shots" of grease are asking for trouble down the road! Proper way is to remove the drive belt, remove the clutch cover cap, rotate the clutch so the zerk fitting is at 12:00, push the clutch sliding sheave assy toward the engine, shot 1..maybe 2 shots of grease in, rotate the clutch so the zerk is at 6:00, you will see grease that came out of the weep hole, you need to wipe/clean out that extra grease! There sould be no grease on the weight links (J38 style) or rollers/weights (G16 style)! There sould be no grease inside the clutch cap also, clean it out. Put the cap and belt on and primary clutch is good to go. Like said the secondary clutch can take 1 to 3 shots, when the grease exits thru the weep hole, it just gets throne around in the engine compartment when you drive it. Please dont over grease the primary clutch!

I agree. I did the same thing, over greased and ruined my belt. Now I take my clutch off and grease by hand. If you get grease on the belt, be sure to replace it and clean the sheaves with solvent several times.
