Re: 1991 Marathon problem
ok now in front of that solenoid is a silver oblong box with a rod that moves up and down with the pedal...on top of that box should be a microswitch that clicks when pedal is pressed...is it clicking?

Not really getting a click, just the sound of the mechanism moving below it. Should it be immediately when I start pressing because the light clicking I hear is when it's fully depressed and I start letting off?

Re: 1991 Marathon problem
It should click as soon as you press the pedal down...that micro sends the voltage to the solenoid to activate it...

I think I need a new switch then. I can see the C shaped mechanism moving properly on the bottom as I depress the pedal, but definitely no click as I start to engage!
They're cheap so I'll get one ordered and keep you posted. Thanks a million partner! Jody |

For some strange reason I've had a feeling it's somewhere in that key mechanism though. Would the micro switch still click if there is a problem in the ignition area?

Re: 1991 Marathon problem
It could be in the reverse/forward switch too. Mine was just dirty and full of crap, pulled it off and cleaned it up and it works fine now. There's two switches in there, and no, you won't hear a click if those switches are bad/dirty because I'm sure the power goes through those switches first.
