EZGO 295cc Starter/Gererator Problem
Hi, Hope you guys can help me with a problem I am having.. I have a 1998 TXT with a 295cc Robins Engine.. I have just rebuilt the motor and have re-installed the engine and all electrical back into the cart. Before I attached the belt from the Starter/Generator to the Drive Clutch, I wanted to make sure that all the electrical worked properly by testing the pedal box/solenoid etc.. When I turn on the key and depress the pedal, the solenoid clicks but the generator does not turn on it's own, if I depress the pedal and spin the generator pulley with my hand it begins to turn and seems to run fine.. The only way I can get the Starter/Generator to operate is to depress the pedal and give spin the pulley with my hand.. I have cleaned all connections and the battery is brand new.. Also, the belt to the drive clutch is not hooked up during this test.. I am testing the operation of the Starter/Generator.. Any Idea's why the Starter/Generator will not start on it's own.. Thanks a lot for your help..

Re: EZGO 295cc Starter/Gererator Problem
wow thats crazy, im having the same problem. same scenario. i think my problem is a combination of low voltage from the old battery and i think the main problem is that the cylinders are a little tight and not lubed up as much as they were when i first rebuilt it. its been about 3 weeks since i put it back in and it hasnt been touched until today. I got it to loosen up a little by spraying some wd40 in where the spark plugs go and turning it by hand for a while. my arms are tired now.
Try removing the spark plugs to remove the compression and see if it turns it any easier. if it doesnt it may be something similar to my situation (the cylinders need a little lubrication?) |
