My thoughts are that most people think "Steering wheel" and crank the nut so tight with a 1/2" ratchet just because it is a longer handled tool with more leverage and no one wants their steering wheel coming off in their hands. When all is said and done, the nuts torque is actually 10-15 ft lbs.
It has a Teflon nut that wont come off and should only be used once then dis-guarded/replaced. Better yet, put an impact on it, then it wont come off anti-seize or not . |
