Re: Lift Kit for Electric RXV

I have a 2010 RXV and went through the front installation in about 30min. Easy if you've done this type of work before. The rear took longer because I had a stability issue with lowering the rear end to install the blocks with the new hd leaf springs. You may need an extra hand in that process. Take it slow lowering the rear axle and remember that the motor is on top... I'm running 23" tires and my cart will cruise about 20mph. I have no stability problems, drives a straight line and very satisfied. I bought the tires and lift as a kit so everything arrived together and saved some cash! |

Re: Lift Kit for Electric RXV
To even out the stance on the rear of my cart I used the stock lug nuts as a spacer behind the wheels on the rear. You can not tell they are there and a lot cheaper than buying spacers. Remember the RXV's are already 2" taller than other carts so a 6" lift is more like 8". I have noticed with all lifted RXV's I have drove including mine it gets squirrelly at full speed. I would not say out of control by any means but I won't let my 13 year old brother drive it due to the hazard of it rolling.

Re: Lift Kit for Electric RXV
I'm not saying the lift is the problem...im saying I have no idea what the problem is on my cart............to call mine squirrelly is an understatement. Its downright dangerous and un- drivable.
Again...here is what I did. bought Stock 2009 RXV from Cypress Woods golf course. Had cart reprogrammed to fastest setting. Installed new Jakes 6" lift for the RXV. Installed new 12" Fairway Alloy elixer rims and tires from KJS. Spent countless hours adjusting and readjusting the steering arms to get the toe in correct. Finally got one setting to work "ok" but wasnt' really ever correct. That's when I took it to the shop. Twice. Still a mess. |

Re: Lift Kit for Electric RXV
I really appreciate all the insight! I have a 2011 RXV and it appears the best route to take is a 3" lift. I like the looks of a lift but I also want a manageable cart at top speed.

Re: Lift Kit for Electric RXV
Is there any slack in the steering gear? That might cause it to be unstable. Or the spindles might be causing some bad camber angles. Post up some close up pics of the setup so we can take a look at it.

No steering gear feels pretty good. Im gonna swap the tires out today and see if that affects anything.

Re: Lift Kit for Electric RXV
This one we built had the Jakes 6" lift, it was stable at 20 mph plus. Not scary to drive. Must be something particular to your cart. I must add, it was an otherwise stock Danaher cart and quite capable. I was impressed, stock 16.99:1 gears are sweet.
