That controller looks stock. I had issues with a stock 'upgraded' controller going into thermal shutdown once and iI would have to let it sit for 15-20 mins before it would go again

Is there any reasonable way to test the controller to see how many amps it is pushing?
My controller was on the cart when I bought it, so it could be bone stock for all I know. Guy I bought it from said it was the BU upgrade. It did have the upgraded wires which I changed out for bigger and it still has the motor and FNR switch. If the controller is bad, could it be that it is drawing to much from the batteries during a run that it actually kills the batteries to fast? |

You can use a clamp on ammeter.

That seems like a lot of variation in your battery voltages. You said you had those readings under load. What kind of load did you put them on? If it was a battery load tester, was it a 12v automotive tester or one specifically for golf cart batteries?
